<P ><FONT face=宋体>1991年，一支来自威尔士的乐队Manic Street Preachers引起人们的注意，在天才词曲作者、歌手Richey Edwards的带领下，从1992年到1994年连续出版了3张惊世骇俗的专辑《Generation Terrorists》、《Gold Against the Soul》和《The Holy Bible》。然而，就当他们即将成为下一件大事的时候，一件意想不到的大事真的发生了，1995年2月1日，主唱Richey Edwards突然失踪，乐队的其他3名成员只好等待Edwards的再次出现，但经过漫长的等待之后，他依旧杳无音讯，生死不明。最后，乐队在三缺一的情况下，继续他们的音乐旅程。<p></p></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT face=宋体> 没有了Edwards，Manic Street Preachers的音乐也发生了很大变化，《Generation Terrorists》为他们树立了一个朋克复兴者的形象。重新上路的Manic Street Preachers更注重内省，更关注现实。同时，狂噪的朋克收敛成更抒情更富有旋律的音乐。1996年的《Everything Must Go》堪称经典之作，没有Edwards的Manic Street Preachers同样具有生命力。而专辑《This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours》显然是沿着上一张专辑的路子走过来了。<p></p></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT face=宋体> 贝司手Nicky Wire在专辑中担任大部分的歌词创作，吉他手James Dean Bradfield在这张专辑中确立了他主唱的地位，他的魅力在于他演唱高音部分。The Everlasting作开始曲，绝对可以吸引住听者的注意力，Bradfield嘹亮的歌声把这首略带一点悲伤的歌曲演绎得更富深情。If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next灵感来自西班牙内战国际纵队志愿者的故事，这首歌很快获得英国单曲榜的冠军，这首歌听起来确实过瘾，尤其是后半部分和声的处理。从You Stole The Sun From My Heart和Ready For Drowning 等许多歌曲中不难看出，Bradfield在高音转调处理上确有其独到之处，因而营造了一种使人难忘的旋律。S.Y.M.M.讲的是1996年利物浦希尔斯波罗足球场惨案，歌曲从头至尾都被压抑、悲伤的气氛所笼罩。<p></p></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT face=宋体> 虽然他们没有像上一张专辑那样获得八方好评，但专辑中至少有一半的歌曲是相当精彩的，这已足以巩固Manic Street Preachers在歌坛的地位。<p></p></FONT></P>
