<P align=left><FONT face="Wide Latin" size=2>尽管乐队成员都是典型的英国人，但这支来自南安普敦的Delays却不是一支典型的Brit-pop乐队，如此这样，这个亲密的四人组也因此可避免被NME仅因为乐队缺少狂妄之气而视为流行音乐的救世主。在Delays的这两组兄弟－Greg（主音/吉他手）与Aaron Gilbert（键盘手）、Rowley（鼓手）与Colin Fox（贝司手）对英国乐坛的颓废气息（是指在Oasis与Blur当道的90年代）生厌之前，他们也曾被主流所吞没，他们曾组建过一支清新流行乐风格的乐队Corky并在当地小有名气，到2001年时，Corky宣布解散，同时组建了Delays。此后几年，Delays一直在不断地形成自己的“阳光浸润下的60年代简朴摇滚乐旋律”的独特风格。2003年，在一次Delays的私人表演中，乐队引起了Rough Trade的Geoff Travis的注意，随后，乐队便获得了一份和约。7月，乐队的单曲“Hey Girl”进入英国排行榜前40，从那以后，乐队便随着Thrills、Tim Burgess以及Sleepy Jackson这些艺人一同演出，这给了Delays在Indie界崭露头角的机会。2004年1月，乐队的第二支单曲“Long Time Coming”又打入排行榜前20，随着Delays成功打入电台时，乐队也做好了发行首张专辑的准备。2004年春，乐队发行了专辑作品《Faded Seaside Glamour》，用一句话来形容这张专辑的音乐，就是：一个下雨的Sunday，the Hollies在带着Cocteau Twins的Elizabeth Fraser去喝茶的途中与the La’s的不期而遇。</FONT></P>
