What we have to say is just : DON'T TRUST IT.
People saying this probably hates us and this news is merely a lie. It is just completely false.
We will not stop after this album and we are just planning to record some new material soon.

Skylark Biography

Skylark is an incredible story of a metal band which reached unexpected results, writing a page destined to remain unique in the history of music.
Starting as a cult/underground band in 1994 and built on the power symphonic compositions written and arranged by Eddy Antonini and Roberto “Brodo” Potenti, Skylark has never had the chance to enter the big world distribution, meeting the skepticism of the most important media and record company. In spite of this, the band year by year has conquered a growing number of fans scored amazing and incredible goals such as the sellings result, more than 100.000 copies sold, and a series of powerful concerts all around the world sharing the stage with band such as Royal Hunt, Running Wild, Edguy, Virgin Steel. No other underground band can show such a kind of achievements. The place where Skylark music reached the top is for sure the Far East, especially Japan where the band had the chance to perform in three wonderful live tours between the 2003 and the 2005, getting two sold out in Shinjuku Loft and Shibuya Cyclone, nice gigs in Club Quattro (Osaka and Tokyo) besides a show in the famous, crowdy and excited Club Citta in Kawasaki.
One of the fans favourite shot is, for sure, the long Fantasy and original saga took on in 1997 with the album “Dragon’s Secrets”, an eternal fight between Good and Evil told through some historic and some brand new characters like White Warrior, Belzebu and Princess of the Snow.
The new record “Divine Gates part 3: The Last Gate”, is published in May 2007 in Japan and in June in the rest of the world. This record writes the last Chapter of this Saga and enters the marketing obviously strong-awaited by fans. It also features an amazing performance of the singer Kiara, interpreting Princess of the Snow, who entered the band at the end of 2003 conquering the heart of the Skylark audience.

1. Please tell me your Musical Career.

I started when I was about 2 or 3 years old, my parents made me sing in some competitions 'cause they were bored to listen to my voice for all the day!
Then, I used to sing in choirs from 8 to 12.
In 1999 a friend of mine brought me to a singing competition and I got good results. It was from then on that I decided to take singing lessons.
In 2001 I won a few national competitions and I used to sing and dance (...I'm also a dancer...) in some shows in North-Centre Italy.
I also had a solo experience, but it was then that I decided to join some rock-heavy metal bands.
It was not only a cover band experience, since we played our own music as well. I used to sing with one of these bands, when I joined Skylark.
In the meantime I also started opera singing.


2. What (or Who) gives you musical Inspirations?

Dreams are my 1st source of inspiration and human relationships.


3. Favorite bands

BON JOVI and IRON MAIDEN above all. The rock of the 80s in general...

Kiara's Profile (self-introduction)

Singing and writing have always played a dominant role in my life and music has always guided me through the good and bad times. It was with heavy metal in particular that I finally found the sort of inspiration I needed. I started listening to Iron Maiden (still my favourite), Metallica, Manowar and then I decided to take a journey and discover something more: new ways of singing, new ways of performing and feeling music with every breath I take.
It was a trip starting through Black Sabbath, Kiss, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Van Halen, Def Leppard, and Scorpions. Every singer was for me a source of inspiration, which together with my classical influences slowly built my way of singing.
Of course, if I should say which one inspired me the most I dare say Bruce Dickinson for both singing and performing. Jon Bon Jovi, M. Kiske, K. Hansen, T. Kotipelto, E. Adams, Skin, Anneke from The Gathering and Tarja from Nightwish did "the rest of the job".
My journey is not over and it will never be over since I'm always trying to find new ways of expression, of improving. I love challenges and when I was asked to record a track for "WINGS" I said: "This is a trial ? let's do it!". It was also quite an honour and I put myself through this journey with my heart and soul and gave voice to the inner feelings of that moment, sweetness and anger, it was like talking to an old picture come up from a nowhere place. I always try to put together the feelings of everyday life: joy, sorrow, rage are my first source of inspiration modelled by an heart beating together with music. I'm really proud of the shots I recorded and of singing with Skylark!

1. Please tell me your Musical Career.

I was given my first 4 string bass guitar as a gift when I was 14. It was December, 10th 1991.
After a while I started my studies with my master Alexander Karlic, who has a degree in lute and baroque guitar. Furthermore, he's a great percussionist.
I studied rhythm with him and I came in touch with Medieval and Renaissance music, improving, at the same time, my technique on bass guitar.
After few years, I studied electric guitar and, after that, Cello.
In 1994 I met Eddy and we created our own sound.


2. What (or Who) gives you musical Inspirations?

J.S.Bach, Haydn, Vivaldi, Mozart, YoYo Ma, my master Alexandar Karlic, Cliff Burton, Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Bon Jovi.

1. Please tell me your Musical Career.

I started playing piano at 5/6 years old and I grew up listening mainly classical music such as Mozart, Bach, Haydn, Beethoveen, Vivaldi, Chopin (but I understood his music wasn't my favorite cup of tea).
During the 80ies I got in touch with POP/hard Rock music, something quite soft like Madonna, Cindy Lauper, Wham, but especially something harded like Europe, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Guns'n Roses...it was the first step to know projects even heavier: I kept on appreciating these hard rock bands but I got wonderful sensations from helloween, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Testament, Malmsteen, Scoprpions.
Between the 1991 and the 1993 I wrote some basic melodies at the piano, nothing so seriuos but the refrain of Lady of the Sky, the Instrumental "The Storm" and maybe something else came from that period. My first real compositions saw the light in 1993, "Fear of the Moon" that is was at first without lyrics and Little Girl my first creation in the whole meaning. Then, in June 1994 I decided to set up Skylark but at first there was no name for the band, In the Fall 1994 I also wrote Escape from the dark, the lyrics of Fear of the Moon, the Horizon and a long Suite called the Wizard that has never been recorded but its best parts were after included in The Heaven Church and The Tragedy. The name of the band was choosen during the recording session of Horizon and the Storm in the early 1995.


2. What (or Who) gives you musical Inspirations?

The bands and the musicians I mentioned before. I think that metal for me would'nt have been the same without guys like Kiske, Steve Harris, Kai Hansen, Jon Bon Jovi, Joey Tempest. In the 90ies I could say that musicians like Robby Valentine, Andre Andersen and bands like Angra and Stratovarius, but only until 1995, played an important role in my music.

Keeper of the Seven Keys (1&2), and lot of tracks of Bon Jovi, Europe, Def leppard and Iron Maiden. I also adore Twilight Time of Stratovarius but the list might be longer...it's hard to make a choice in a few words.

Hard to say...I'd say Fear of the moon from Horizon, Light (my favorite at all) from Dragon's, The Crypt of Montmartre from my solo, Why did you kill the Princess' from Hell, Symbol of Freedom from the Princess' Day, Rainbow in the Dark from Wings. and from Heaven...I don't know, it's too easy to say Lady of the Sky or the Heaven Church...obviously I really like those ones but I would also like to mention a song like "Insanity is the truth"... it's an easy structured song probably not a masterprice but it's so catchy and with a lot of energy and I still don't understand why it didn't become an hit among our fans.

I started playing drums at 6. After a while, I realized it wasn't for me!!!
So at 14, I switched to guitar and started playing in some local cover bands until I met skylark in 1998.
You should of course know the rest of the story!


2. What (or Who) gives you musical Inspirations?

My inspiration is taken from everything I feel , I see , I touch and I can keep in my heart.
